How to Get Your Starter Pokémon
- You must go to the Laboratory, under Trainer's First Day, and meet with the Professor.
- You do not have to start in Littleroot Town, but if your character lives in a different town/city in Hoenn he/she will have to travel all the way to Littleroot Town with an experienced Trainer.
- If there are no experienced Trainers available then you'll have to give the Professor a call who will travel to your town with the 3 starter Pokémon.
- Talk with the Professor and he/she will give you what you'll need to start your journey.
- Once you've gotten everything you'll need you will be given a chance to choose your starter Pokémon.
What Will Your Starter Pokémon Be?
- Trainers are allowed to have one Pokémon before getting a starter Pokémon.
- Starter Pokémon are Pokémon given to a Trainer by a Professor when the Trainer is ready to start his/her's adventure.
(Example: In the Pokémon Adventure series Red had a Poliwrath since his childhood and received Pikachu by Professor Oak.) - The region and your Starter Pokemon have nothing in common with each other. Starter Pokemon from other regions can be transferred to your region.
(Example: If you're from Kanto you can still get starters from Unova/Sinnoh/etc.)
